Woke up at 4 a.m.

80 degrees in the Fort.

Peddle something today.

Ready for 5 p.m.

Work on the race car tonight and tomorrow morning.

Going go racing tomorrow night.

We lived an adventure, love in the summer
Followed the sun 'til night, reminiscing other times of life
For each every other the feeling was stronger
The shock hit eleven, we got lost in your eyes

• Slept decent
• Starbucks for bf
• All day leadership retreat
• Travel work tonight but hopefully not too much. I don't like to work Friday nights.

Do the day.

Another warm summer day, albeit with sunshine, in west Georgia/east Alabama. Cats fed, ants expelled, coffee made.
Because a good day starts with good coffee.
Make it a good one in spite of what humankind and the Spanish are up to.

Pick the C Monster up from camp this evening. It's the official end of summer now. Teacher wife goes back on Monday, C Monster in two weeks.

Seems like we always started back around Labor Day. My elementary didn't have AC.

Well I'm here so I might as well socialize.

• Working a few hours then spending the rest of the day and weekend in the pool
• So far this summer has consisted of vacations to Vegas, NYC and Santa Rosa Beach, but the rest of the summer has been spent in Minneapolis 4 days per week. That state SUCKS. Beautiful in parts, but awful.
• Younger son & his wife are leaving for Ft. Benning soon *cue momma tears
• Older son leaving later this year for a year to place undisclosed *more momma tears
• In case you want to feel old, the twins are taller than me and going into 7th grade. They were just babies yesterday so...don't know how that happened.

- half day today, leave in about an hour
- no big plans the rest of the day
- tomorrow I'm headed to *Comfort for a little overnight getaway with the gf (who just got back from a Rhine River cruise). She's spoiled, but I can't help myself.
- that's all I got

If you haven't had a chance to visit Comfort for a weekend, I highly recommend it. It's the next place to flourish. Most of the smaller communities around San Antonio are getting overwhelmed with people...Boerne, I-35 corridor, Seguin, Fredericksburg. We stayed in Comfort over New Years and it was a very pleasant trip. Slow, quiet. We stayed at Camp Comfort (https://camp-comfort.com) and it was really peaceful, creekside property. There are a few shops and restaurants and some local wineries. Comfort Pizza is legit, but they are slow putting out pizzas. It's all outdoor seating and there is a good selection of craft beer to enjoy while you're waiting. We also went to High's Cafe & Store last time and it was also really good (good reviews).

Woke up early.

Got ready and came to work early.

Knocked out a couple things and then had a two-hour training.

Busy afternoon ahead.

Fuego threw a banana pudding in with my order. Or they gave me someone else's order. Either way, it's good.

Someone intentionally ran over a huge soft shell turtle on New Main. I hope someone finds that person and does bad things to them with a fork.

I could see that happening, yes. Kind of surprised it hasn't happened already but Kendall County is anti-development which might have something to do with it. I live in the north side of San Antonio and it's only 45 minutes door to door. Convenient getaway if you want out of the city hustle and bustle and are looking for a quiet spot.

Also, don't tell many people cause I don't want them ruining my spot.

I don't think they have a serious venue for big names. Looks like live music is local talent playing at Remedy Hall or some of the restaurants/wineries. Probably just a dude and a guitar.

Pest control guy says I have evidence of rodent intrusion in the crawlspace and attic. Not bad yet, but could get there. This is a very expensive year.

You could always get a cat?

Get a female cat. They are natural hunters while the males get a meal and want to immediately go nap.
