I only really applied to A&M. My mother really wanted me to go to Rice, but I was already a big enough of a nerd. This was mid-80s.

Quite frankly if I had to do over again, I would probably go somewhere out of state.

1990s/2000s:
Berklee College of Music - Couldn't afford it
US Air Force Academy - Spent a year there, then voluntarily returned to active duty (long story)
Texas A&M - Attended and graduated
Norwich University - Attended and graduated

2019 - Present:
Houston City College - Attended and graduated
Sam Houston State University - Attended and graduated
Stephen F. Austin State University - Currently attending

I did not apply to any other schools

Graduated high school in 2005. Baylor (just so I could say I did given family history), Clemson (my out of state just in case I decided to take a flyer), and A&M. I was 99.5% sure I was going to A&M when I was applying.

Let's just say I've never been rejected at a college at which I've actually applied.

I spent a fair amount of time on that campus in middle school and HS, but the only people I knew in my age range from Houston who went there were baseball or football players.

I only applied to A&M because I thought it had the best engineering program. I lasted one semester in engineering before I changed to BiMS and then vet school. Started 1981.

Obviously went to A&M. Only spent a semester in political science before switching to history. Graduated with degree in history from TAMU

Once I got accepted to A&M I stopped the process at the other two. This was 1984

Because the online application for all state schools just had checkboxes for each one and high school Anchorhold was too lazy to open another window and google which one was in college station.

I only applied to TAMU. Top 10% rule (is that still a thing?) guaranteed acceptance.

A&M - rejected
Tulane - accepted
Austin College - accepted

Went through summer school as a provisional and was accepted at A&M. I went to a non-accredited private school so A&M didn't like that in 1983-ish.

A&M was the only place I wanted to go; I knew that from the start. Worked out well as I ended up paying for a lot of my schooling. It was much easier to do that back then than it is now.

Mid 80's

Applied to A&M and Penn State, got accepted to both. Was told they would not pay for out of state tuition at Penn State so A&M it was and never regretted it. Even though they stopped paying for anything after 1.5 years. Was on my own.

Irony is that after my 2nd year at A&M parents moved to Pennsylvania. I stayed in Texas and have never left.

2008, applied for a Navy RTOC scholarship (didn't make the cut though) but I had to apply to at least 5 schools with a Navy RTOC program while being considered.

Mid 80's. Only applied to A&M. National Merit Scholar - probably could have gotten in almost anywhere I applied. Never seriously considered anywhere else.

Applied to A&M, rejected. Grades were good enough but SAT wasn't quite there and I either didn't know or care that you could take it again.

Attended/Graduated Lamar years 1990-94. Blessing in disguise because during my college years I had a very close family member battle a lot of health problems that I needed to be there for so I'm glad I was home and not away during that time.

I posted this elsewhere, sorry if repetitive - initially I chose Rice, was all set to go until I visited for a day with the "College" they had me assigned to.
Was eating lunch with one of the students there who asked me if I really wanted to go to Rice. I said, sure, why not?
"Well, the tests are hard and the women are ugly".
I will NEVER forget that, that guy did me a solid.
Never liked the "culture" of tu, so I went to A&M.

I did get a graduate degree from what I would say is the best school within the U.T. system (I see undergraduate and graduate very differently). But no part of me is burnt orange.

This. Well, not laziness, but no one told me anything about taking college visits and looking around and stuff. So A&M it was.

Collin County Community College would've been my backup.

Yep. Tech offered to pay for a masters degree.

Rice said no. A&M said yes.

Oddly enough, Rice tried to recruit me out of high school, but I didn't want to move to Texas.

I was Top 10% with a good ACT score in the Fall 1994. A&M was the only school I wanted to attend, and as I had auto-admission, it's the only school where I applied. I was admitted, began in 1995 and graduated with a BA in Political Science in May 1999.

I applied to the MLS program at SMU and was admitted for Spring 2010. I graduated in December 2012 and began teaching college courses the following year.

I applied for additional graduate coursework in History at both Arizona State and Eastern Washington. I was admitted to both, but EWU had programs that fit my profile better. I earned 15 additional Master's level credits in US History but stopped short of earning another degree. I have no regrets.

Undergrad: Applied to A&M only, 90s, went to A&M

Medical school: Baylor, all Texas med schools except for tceh and TCOM. Accepted UTSW (could only hold one acceptance from a public Texas med school at the time), Baylor. Went to Southwestern.

TAMU
TAMU Galveston as a backup because they had the guaranteed transfer back to college Station

Accepted to both. Only wanted A&M.
