Blessed to be alive to worship God today and rest. Cats are fed and window-stalking a bird who flits up to the windowsill, evoking "ack-ack-ack-ack-ack" responses. Coffee, church, and the wife has a women's group meeting this afternoon so I will probably veg out watching Young Sheldon reruns.

Yep. Loved it when she (Annie Potts-Designing Women fame) used the two dumber grandkids to clean out her house and garage for rummage sale, then ended up haggling to indicate they each owed her $2 each for the privilege of helping and for their pizza slices!

Up fairly early. Slept in the same position for probably six hours without moving

Yesterday was expensive

Taking care of wife's friend's cat this morning. She's a good kitty and has some old kitty issues that require special diet and mixing in some meds and supplements and her coat is a little tattered because she doesn't bathe herself as often, but she is a really sweet kitty. She likes my visits

Get ready to go out of town. I'm not thrilled about it this time

We lost a vibrant young woman in our community due to some psycho road rage behavior. She worked at the university and was a professional boxer on the side and a great person and a lot of people are torn up about it. She was 26 years old.

Today needs to be better

This is on the front page of ESPN, described as a "bicycle accident". Surprised not to see a thread on it anywhere (perhaps I missed it).

Sounds more like "got murdered by someone using his car as a weapon".

-Was going to run this morning, but too much smoke in the air
-Walked across the bridge to get coffee
-Finish my paperwork from last week
-Work in my yard/weed patch for an hour

-Slept great. Which is crazy cause it was a hotel but guess my body was just too exhausted.
-Got a later start to Gulf Shores than anticipated but was glad to lounge around this AM. Hopefully we can get into condo early.
-Bout to get some work done.
- 3 hours 45 min to go!

-Out running a few errands and getting ready for a trip this week

-Watching the World Cup Final at 2pm

-Going to follow that up with watching the F1 race I have recorded from earlier today

-I need to find a good way to display some of my pins and volunteer stuff from the world cup. Probably a shadowbox of some kind

-My wife has a book out this week so I am going to join her on tour (benefit of being funemployed). That means a pretty hectic schedule:
Monday-Boston
Tuesday-Temecula, CA
Wednesday-Chicago(Oak Park)
Thursday-Houston
Friday-Greenville, SC
Saturday-Kansas City

I turned off baseball today and switched to the World Cup final. That doesn't happen very often. I'm watching on the British ITVx app. I had to mute the half time show.

Will go grocery shopping at some point during the 2nd half. I'm getting hungry, and we're more or less out of food in the house.

British television announcers complaining about the "sweltering heat" in New Jersey. Newark is currently 82F with a dewpoint of 52F. Makes for a relative humidity of 35%. NW wind at 15 mph gusting to 26 mph. About as nice of a mid-July afternoon as you could ask for.

Also a little update on the stray cat we have partially adopted. Turns out Phillip nos actually more of a Phyllis!

She showed up with her kittens awhile back so we have been burning through extra food to keep up with them.

I think someone may have scooped them up to get them fixed because they haven't been around in a couple of days
