-Taking kiddos shopping at "Mall of Louisiana" this afternoon and then maybe a little casino gambling this evening.
-Travel work in the car if I can keep from getting carsick.

Hot, sunny day here in the deep south. Yesterday about 5:30 PM we got a massive rainstorm, building up from the day's heat. I suspect the same today.
Strangely, although we have lots of southern mixed forest all around us, we don't see many squirrels asking for welfare or handouts. I suspect it is because the raccoons and feral cats have eaten them.

Stayed up late trying to figure out what's wrong with my phone. Didn't solve it. Will have to take it to a store today to see if they can figure it out

The Support app says it's a hardware issue. It just stopped seeing the cellular network yesterday and my watch keeps losing connection to it, but I can still use it with wifi to send texts and FaceTime and such

Reeeaaaalllly don't want to have to buy a new phone today but I need one.

Chores since I woke up and then finally went to go get tacos. The store where I get tacos didn't make tea today. Had to have a discussion with the worker to go over her responsibilities as a person who sells a variety of caffeinated products. I didn't want bottled tea and I didn't want a soft drink. Get it together, people!

Listed three items on ebay yesterday and sold them all. I guess I didn't ask for enough money if they sold so quickly. Have already mailed all three of them. These were all leftover parts from recent computer upgrades. If there's one thing I've learned hoarding computer parts for 30+ years, it's that I almost never use them. Much better to sell them and get them out of the house.

Downright steamy today. I found that out going to the Post Office just now. Dewpoint is currently 75F, and we're headed to a high of 92F today. Making me nostalgic for Beaumont... not really.

Cardinals and Royals both play today, so I've got baseball to watch. I think there's a Bronze medal soccer game as well. I'll be skipping that one.

- reading at Starbucks while child 1 goes to open gym with a friend

- lots of opportunities to read my book!

* dumped my Keurig earlier this year after it stopped working and invested in this product. It's been consistent and great. I opted for the candy apple red color.

Walked the dog and haven't done much else.

I have had this coffee maker but in black for a little over 6 months now. I like it.

Did you ever consider a Mr. Coffee? We peasant-worker types cannot even understand the plumbing of that device!

15 month old grandson slept good last night. Mildly chaotic when he's awake because he's very active. Lol.

Went to the store to get some things with him. Had lunch. He's been napping so I mowed the back yard. Pool time with some grandparent friends who are watching their two grandkids coming up.

I'm sure there will be some beers consumed on this hot day.

I'm a French Press guy. Simple but sophisticated.

Haha. I have had a Mr. Coffee. Solid choice but if I didn't get this I'd probably get a Bunn. Those things seem to last forever. My grandparents had one and made Folgers every morning. Anytime I drink Folgers (not often) it takes me back to the kitchen in their ranch house.

I've probably been through 3-4 Keurigs and while they are convenient they don't seem to last.

I've had the Moccamaster ~6 months so still new but I've been very happy with it and notice better tasting coffee. And I don't consider myself a "coffee snob" per se, though I do use a French press occasionally.

• It's a crisp 100 degrees here at the cabin
• I'm getting next to nothing done because the sun is beating my ass
• The pool was nice
• Sat through a slog of a quarterly meeting for the campground
• Will probably do some painting when the sun gets below the tree line

De'Longhi makes one for about $75. It's the best entry-level espresso machine on the market.
