I'll never understand this level of stupidity. It's the easiest and most obvious part of our job as teachers not to put kids in danger. It takes a real piece of work to destroy that many lives at once.

It's also one of the easiest things to get caught doing. I don't know how these teachers convince themselves that the kids will never say anything. If the husband didn't catch them in the act it would only have been a matter of time before one of these boys bragged to their friends.

Interesting legal question though. She was a school secretary, not a teacher, and the kids were above the age of consent. Had she just met them out in public and didn't work for the school what she did would have been legal.

Her attorneys will assuredly argue that she was not in a position of authority over them because she was merely a secretary, which would make the consensual sex legal. Doubtful it will go their way but there's an argument to be made.

In Texas it wouldn't matter. Per the statute, just being an employee of the school is enough, provided none of the exclusions apply. No idea what the blighted land of Indiana does.

Yeah that's what I figured. It makes sense to just have a blanket rule rather than try to parse roles.

If she gets away with it based on that distinction then we're going to have a bunch of horny women signing up to be high school secretaries. We don't want that.

That is not true at all. NCES reports the arrests for sexual misconduct are 85-90% male despite the educator population only being 23% male.

The "hot female teacher' is just the one that gets the big news coverage.

Don't they do orientation and make teachers go through training through videos and videos to make them understand this is a no no?

I think the reason women have gone rogue these days is there is no punishment and men are simps and weak cowards these days.

I think it's different types of behavior as well.

Most media reports I see about the men getting caught are spy or catfish situations. Then you have guys like the assistant coach in Celina who was highly interested in the middle school boys' shower and creepily conducted nude workouts.

Most of the women educators being caught seem to be trying to have long term romantic sexual relationships.

One of my kids in my home town slept with another students mom in high school. Said mom had 3 daughters in the high school. Dude would never shut up about it and it easily found its way back to her daughters and then husband. Very messy divorce as well.

One of my kids in my home town slept with another students mom in high school. Said mom had 3 daughters in the high school. Dude would never shut up about it and it easily found its way back to her daughters and then husband. Very messy divorce as well.
