All colleges with NIL money are now pro sports teams.

Do the Texas Rangers not count for Fort Worth? Are they credited to Arlington or something? They belong to all of North Texas which includes Fort Worth, IMO.

I think in this context Arlington gets credit for the Cowboys and the Rangers. Dallas gets credit for the Stars and Mavericks. I think this list just depends on where the arena is.

Arlington is not in Ft Worth.

After further review Fort Worth has been disqualified and ejected from the game due to illegal holding of Dallas' balls.

Frisco should be #2 on the smallest list, if you count MLS teams.

The RGV (Hidalgo & Cameron Counties) have just over 1.3 million people. Hidalgo alone almost 900,000. Though a county and not a city you can drive thru it in less time than it takes in Austin or San Antonio.

I would consider adding largest and smallest tv markets or metro areas to the list.

Metro areas is a more accurate reflection than simply the city.

Practice facilities don't count. Stadiums where teams play.

And no - Arlington is not in Fort Worth.

St. Louis had more than 800k people in 1950. Those people live in the suburbs now (along with many others). STL metro has something like 2.8 million people.

Arlington is as much in Ft. Worth as it is "in Dallas." What a ridiculous statement.

If we are going by location of the stadiums, East Rutherford, NJ (population 10,000) has two NFL teams.

Austin wouldn't be on the list either. Hence his qualifier of Big 4.

Was gonna respond about that as well. Anybody that thinks St. Louis is a small city is an idiot. Same with Pittsburgh, Buffalo, and Cincinnati. Use your brain for just a sec folks.

Interesting to start some Dallas vs. Fort Worth trash talk on Texags of all places, when the rest of Texas sees an obvious parallel between those two cities and the horns and Aggies.

One is characterized by pretense, elitism, and an inflated sense of self-importance, while the other has an uncommon amount of character, identity, and community for its size.

Yeah, MSA/CSA is all that matters.

I mean Miami has like ~500k people, which makes it one of the "smaller" pro cities. But its ranked just after DFW and Houston in MSA. Same goes for Atlanta, Boston, DC, etc

Foxborough, MA has a population of 18k and is home to the New England Patriots.

Once the Mavs/Stars move to Frisco or wherever Dallas will be the largest city without a pro sports team.

The Stars will probably move to Plano, the Mavs will move to Las Vegas.

And for the dozen or so UFL fans, note that the Arlington Renegades have moved to Frisco and now are the Dallas Renegades.

Is there really a chance the mavs move to Vegas?

There's always a chance, however unlikely. The majority owner is from Vegas and there was a conspiracy for a while that she was sabotaging the team so she could move it to Vegas. Then they fired the GM (thank God) and those rumors have subsided.
