Lots of folks. My son works in a pit room in the metroplex. Tip share increases his hourly wage by $8-$10 per pay cycle. 20k per year increase per employee is pretty impressive, especially for 18-20 y/o's. I was shocked when I first saw it.

We order lunch which came out to $100
Prompt came up and he just hit 18% like it was nothing.
I was like, holy crap, you just tipped $18 for lame amusement park food that's all self serve.
I know most people aren't that oblivious but it also is a reflection of how putting everything on a card deadens us to how much we're actually spending.
If there was just a tip jar there there is no way he would have stuffed $18 in there.

Because anyone behind them has to stop and wait for them to crawl into the parking place, most of the time taking an extra 2 or 3 attempts to straighten out because they're in something way bigger than they can handle.

To back in, they have to pull into the on-coming traffic side of the parking lot aisle (stopping traffic in both directions), stop, put it in reverse, slowly creep backwards into the spot, in most cases they then have to stop, put it in drive, pull forward again, stop, put it in reverse, and slowly back into the spot again. Sometimes, they have to go one more time.
Meanwhile, everyone else in the parking lot has to stop what they're doing and wait on this guy to waste 30 seconds doing what takes most of us one second to do.
It's not really about the time this person is wasting for every other driver in the parking lot, it's the inconsiderate nature of it all...or the idea that this person is completely oblivious to the rest of the world around them.

They may be driving a company provided vehicle that requires them as part of their employment to follow company mandated safe driving practices, such as backing into parking spaces.
Yep that's one of the reasons I do it
It is statistically safer and less likely to cause an accident. My employer requires it for company vehicles if a pull through spot isn't available. It is also normal practice in many nations, or even legally required.
Yore going to cause the same problem backing out as you would backing in, just you will be much more limited in view pulling out onto the lot lanes where there are more likely to be other moving vehicles and pedestrians so it increases risk overall.
