So the game is based each day on a heavily redacted encyclopedia entry on a topic. The topic is the answer, and you're given the general category - today was Science & Tech.
You can reveal portions of what has been redacted to get a better idea of the answer, and when you reveal something you can optionally choose to reveal a single letter of the answer.
You are not penalized for incorrect guesses, so I try to solve it without revealing any of the redactions, meaning no revealed letters either.
Angry face because today's entry was fairly easy to figure out, heavily redacted but you know the answer is two five letter words, and seems to involve a set of 7 items.
My brain goes to the periodic table of elements and I guess NOBLE GASES
Game says it's partially correct, NOBLE is correct but GASES is wrong. Hmm.
Perhaps NOBLE GROUP? Nope, also only partially correct.
No point in revealing any of the redactions because I already know what the article is about, so I just chose the "show me the answer" option and the answer was revealed to be NOBLE G(A)S (the open and closed parenthesis around the A are actually brackets, but not sure how to post brackets here).
A three letter word with the middle letter enclosed by brackets is considered a five letter word? WTF? I get that they're most likely using AI to generate these things, but can't be bothered to even have a human "sanity check" the answers?
And it says 69% of people correctly got the answer. I call 100% bull**** on that!
