I went to that one at McDade last year. It was fun. I was watching the jousting and kept hearing this squeaking noise behind me, WTH, and finally figured out it was two adult furries speaking mouse to each other. Like I don't get that enough teaching middle school.

Wait, your school has students dressing as furries squeaking like mice?

I thought that was a myth perpetrated by right wingers

I know almost nothing about what happened, but I hope whoever buys it returns some decency to the fair. Kick the furries and "cosplayers" out.
They could get it dialed in some, but for the most part, the cosplayers dress appropriate. You aren't suggesting banning people playing dress up because of a few bad apples?
I'm saying kick out the bad apples.

Kick out all of the furries.
It has become almost like Comic-Con (nothing against that) where it used to be that you would look around and think "oh this is a Renaissance Festival." Now it's furries, cosplay that is just…WTF…steampunk…it's so far from what it used to be.
That's what I'm talking about kicking out. The people that dress like they're going to burning man deserve to get kicked out, it's supposed to be a family friendly event. Comicons have costume rules and will kick you out because they're supposed to be kid/family friendly events. No reason why renaissance fairs shouldn't do the same.

Kicking out the ones that decide to dress up as characters like Mario or Pikachu or whatever I'd just kick out due to preference. Either dress to the theme or don't dress out at all.

It's not your ren fest, so you don't make the rules

You want one of your liking, open one

Our GT English teachers always took kids to that one in the 1980s. The first years it was offered, I passed, but my classmates came back and said how much fun it was. I went the following year. It was the first place I ever had fried ice cream and a turkey leg. The funnest part for us high school kids was some buxom woman making announcements about shows starting and seeing her boobs about to fall out of her peasant blouse. Good times.

Does this mean there will be a Coronation for the prince of kettle corn to assume the thrown?

I went to a restaurant that serves 'breakfast at any time'. So I ordered French Toast during the Renaissance.

Living in Dallas I always assumed the Renaissance Festival in Waxahachie was the biggest, guess the one related to this King George guy was bigger?

This one was in Plantersville NW of Houston between there and College Station. It was badass back in the day. I don't know what it's like now but back in the early 90s there weren't as many families that went so it was more adult oriented. I knew nothing about it until one day a few of the RenFair people showed up Brazos Brewing Company in College Station and were promoting it.

There was a midget with them that was rolling around the restaurant and acting like an untamed animal weirdo. Funny as hell.

We started going and went for several years but over time more and more people found about it and it started getting more crowded and more kids so they tamed it down a little bit.

"King" George has been offering the place for years, getting qualified buyers, then backing out at the last minute.

That's the issue I have with it. Wear period-appropriate stuff. It's not the place to see who can outgay each other the most with their trans fetish porn costumes. I also don't need to see Master Chief, Pikachu, and all the comic-con stuff.
