On the coast for a memorial service

Had dinner with a friend last night. Someone I've known since 6th grade but don't see often. He's been thru the ringer and it was good to catch up

Breakfast taco from Lupita's in Freeport. The tortillas are thicker than I remember and the eggs were overcooked. It didn't live up to my memories of the place

Made good time on the trip down last night even though I took the back way. Good Lord has Fulshear grown!

Headed back home later. Might stop in Houston to see family and hit up a guitar store

About four and a half miles with the dog, now eating eggs. Need to schedule some networking calls for next week.

Ran (and I use that work loosely) 3.1miles this morning.

Trip to HEB to get gas for the backup generator and get food fixings for the the week.

Sourdough pizza dough in the fridge awaiting dinner tonight.

Today is the Perihelion (thanks old farmer's almanac)

• Slept decent, awake at 7
• 9:30 gym
• Just sat down to work. Need to get a lot done today.
• Maybe try to get some steps in later today.
• Okay off of here and on to work.

Picked up an elliptical to add to the garage gym.
Grocery trip.
Continue bedroom closet clean out - less than 2 weeks until the renovation.
Minor pool cleaning.
Football and beer.

That is an entirely inadequate number of degrees

Crushed garlic cloves in honey during the day.

Take zinc at night.

• Pup up at 5:45
• Made some delicious coffee
• Been dealing with tech support ad nauseum for days because my website keeps crashing
• I need to practice

90 minute chipper workout.

Chores around the house. Getting ready for the cold snap.
Split some firewood. Knotty post oak is a workout.

About to watch some basketball. We damn well better win.

Expecting 4" to 8" of mostly sleet with some snow at the end. We might have thundersleet tonight! Up to .3" of freezing rain as well. Nothing that falls is going to melt any time soon, and my driveway is a north facing hill. #YankeeProblems

And some throwbacks…

Very good memorial service today for the father of some friends. Saw a lot of people I have not seen in a long time. Tremendous turn out for the event. He was a good man and well-loved.

Drive home was backroads. Just felt like it. Took a road I had not taken before for part of it. Tried to Robert Frost it up a bit.

It was a good day.
