This horrific accident should never have occurred. This was a B-737, but before all the "experts" start in on asinine Boeing bashing for what looks like nothing more than an unnecessarily panicked flight crew who landed way, way above normal landing speed and a runway far too short. In 20 years of flying Boeing Jets, I have never heard of an aircraft where all 3 landing gear would not extend. Even with full hydraulic failure, the gear can be extended manually. 160+ passengers killed for no reason. Beyond sad. No doubt that the Asian Cockpit Culture of never questioning the Captain heavily played into this tragedy.
