Tarleton cannot change its name. Its rather eccentric major donor and namesake stipulated that. So he has a park and juvenile center in Knoxville, TN and the school in Texas named after him due to him living a frugal life and investing money in War of 1812 land bounties from veterans of that war. We don't even know if that's his real name because he gave varying accounts of the state of his birth (Vermont, New Hampshire).

It happened the day before we played them in basketball. They had ETAMU jerseys ready for our match the next day. Though, they looked like they bootlegged the uniforms at some post oak kiosk.

Very new, happened this Fall. More in line with their historical name East Texas State. Also a match to West Texas A&M in Canyon, although I doubt anyone in Commerce cared about that

They tried to make it Texas A&M - Dallas at Commerce in the summer. It needs to go back to East Texas State Teachers College.

Brother and sister both went there and hate the name change. How long until A&M Kingsville becomes "South Texas A&M"? The screams will be horrendous - they hated going away from A&I.

East Texas State Was the original name. I would hope they would go back to their East Texas State University and keep their identity. When the A&M regents started naming system schools they had to be like tu.
