They are awful. That said, serious eats has a recipe for a homemade McRib if you ever have some leftover pulled pork you want to do something different with and that version is really good

I too have never had a McRib. I can't pass up the Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese.

I've had one. Years ago I thought, "Why?" After eating it, I had the same question.

McRibs are not awful. They're mainly "good" because they are "for a limited time only" so that makes them exotic with a sense of urgency.
