Also get you a Twisters Breakfast burrito:

For a low key meal, Dion's pizza

It's a chain and they have one in Lubbock, where I live.

Really good pizza…really good subs…really good salad

Here's the "505"…green chilis and pepperoni:

The Cocina Azul on Mountain is my favorite spot in town.

Sawmill Market is an excellent food hall as well.

I travelled to ABQ about once a month over a 2-year period and found the food to be pretty lackluster. I wasn't much a fan of "New Mexican" Mexican food. They tend to drown the plate with a green or red chili, which completely overpowers the rest of the flavors.

The best places have already been mentioned, but here's another suggestion. It's not ABQ food, but Frank's Chicken & Waffles is fantastic. Your car may be broken into and you might get mugged inside the place, but it's the best chicken & waffles I've ever had. Frank's Famous Chicken & Waffles

Agreed. New Mexico Mexican food is not great.

Sounds like you'd do better in places using cafeteria trays so the foods don't mix.
