This thread made me drive across town to get a Sam's Club pucuhn pie.

Verdict: Very good. Damn good even. Not the best I have had but not terribly far from it either in all honesty. Going to make a very bold statement here. The bar between homemade and good storebought pucuhn pies are razor thin IMO. I think the skill needed to nail that spice ratio just right in homemade in the filling is really hard to get consistently. While the best storeboughts get it every single time. I really like the consistency personally. That being said, you find that one homemade source that is perfect, you never leave it obviously. Ever

8 on 10. $13 for a huge ass pie. Zero regrets. I'll do a freeze test and see how it holds up on that and check back in later.

Also if you go to their store on 71 between Bastrop and Austin, they have a pumpkin pecan strussel pie that is delicious.

Oxbow Bakery in Palestine owned by my brother class of '99 was named by Southern Living Magazine a few years ago as best pie in the South. His Pecan pie was featured on the cover of Southern Living.

To me I think all pie is good
