Yahoo was mine. Sort of by default. I'm so disgusted with the useless majors of DEI, Sociology, and Journalism.
For about 2 weeks they won't let you comment on any yahoo news story. I used to love to point out the fallacy of reasoning, misleading titles, and implicit bias in what is 90% editorials.

Recommendations of a more neutral page, not an equally biased right leaning page. I prefer to do my own thinking. As a STEM guy with 3 graduate degrees I don't need editorials from journalism majors.

I use an app called ground news. I highly recommend it, so you aren't force fed biased news by an algorithm. "Ground News is a news aggregator service that allows users to compare media coverage from across the political spectrum."

Honestly, TexAgs. I will go to our local TV news website if some sort of event is happening I need to know about.

Associated Press is annually ranked as the least bias and most accurate by Ad Fontes Media and their Media Bias Chart. That's my pick.

ETA: Looks like NPR News was most recently ranked in the middle. I'll be switching to that.

I do check KBTX for a couple minutes for any local updates and KTRK in Houston for any updates there or any breaking news that is local, state, national, or world.

But I don't read much national or world unless one of y'all brings it up here. It sucked when Russia attacked Ukraine. It sucked when terrorists launched 2,000 rockets in Israel. It doesn't immediately affect me and I have no control over it or even an avenue to have one of my elected officials fix it.

I do still check the obits in my hometown newspaper every day for about ten seconds. The parents of my friends and classmates are all leaving us. It's good to know that so I can offer them condolences and in some cases attend a funeral or send flowers or make a donation.

Yeah.

NPR used to at least pretend to be in the middle. Not anymore. They don't try to hide their bias.

When Biden was in a debate with Paul Ryan before an election, the report the next morning from Steve Inskeep on NPR was so one-sided it was embarrassing. Inskeep sounded like he had the stigmata when talking about how Ryan talked to Biden.

When Obama had multiple members of his cabinet found to be delinquent on their income taxes, including the chairman of the Fed (who said, well, the tax code is complicated), the NPR reporters threw them softball questions.

Plus, all of my Lib friends claim it is impartial and middle of the road. Yeah. Of course. Because it sounds like what they want to hear.

NPR in the middle? HA! NPR is the absolute worst. I'm serious, NPR is possibly the most propagandist news entity in existence. Every story they cover and every word they use to describe it is to further a left wing narrative. They're despicable.

Not according to independent researchers whose entire job it is to review and rank these things. Bummer that all of your panties are in a bunch about it but that's a you problem. Maybe do some research before calling it fake.

Liberal independent researchers that believe they are moderate so they like what they hear on NPR, like my FB friends who are now planning to move out of the country?

It's interesting, but I'm not sure I'd take it as gospel. From what I can glean, they have analysts from left, right, and center review stories and assign a political bias and a news value/reliability score. What I can't determine is their methodology for determining a left/right bias or for news value/reliability - is there an objective framework the analysts are working from, or is it down to a "looks right to me" judgment call?

What is the dangerous potential undeclared allergen? The butter does not say "Contains Milk" on the label. Americans must be warned that butter comes from milk.

I listen to NPR frequently. I don't need an "independent" researcher's opinion. NPR is very good at lying by omission, swatting away strawman arguments, or just completely ignoring facts that don't further a leftist/Dem narrative.

Much of the time it's very subtle. It's often in the tone of voice they use when describing Dems or their policies (cheerful, upbeat) and how that changes to a more dour, glum or incredulous timbre when talking about Republicans. The host will often sigh or pause for effect, or to emote for their liberal listeners (this must do well in focus groups with libs). Gotta show that emotion and concern when reporting the news to the Left, I suppose.

I would definitely say NPR radio skews farther left than the online content.
While not MotherJones of the HuffPo, it certainly tends to the left.

Drudge was my homepage forever until they got full scale TDS.
Haven't settled on a new one.
