Noticed a neighbor already has theirs lit up in the front window.
Sheer insanity. For the people who put them up right after Halloween, that's 54 days to Christmas.

A person on my street had theirs up on November 1st. House was completely lit up as well. We're putting ours up the weekend before Thanksgiving.
No tree or decorations. Lights are up on the house only because brother in law has a lights service and we're the first house on his list for the year.
Unfortunate part is we're the last house he takes down after the holidays.

This!!!! Thanksgiving is an actual holiday and deserves to be celebrated!!
I see both sides. My wife wants to do early November cause she thinks Christmas gets screwed. Which it kinda does. We decorate for fall on 9/1. So it gets 3 full months out while Christmas would only get 1 if we waited until after thanksgiving (especially this year with it being on the 28th).
Put ours up today. But we have 3 little kids and we leave for a week at Thanksgiving.

I agree! I'm thinking of wrapping all my Live Oaks in red lights, house in white lights, and a big ass Nutcracker out front. All before Thanksgiving.

It's just wrong. Christmas is no longer special if you have decorations up on November 1.
And I feel the same about people who put Halloween decorations up in August.
Earliest I've ever done Christmas decorations is the weekend after Thanksgiving, but usually not until December. This year is "why not both" protected.
This year I will accept a week before Thanksgiving to give it a full month
We put up Christmas decorations based on work schedules. I have weekends off and my wife works in a hospital where days off vary from week to week. She's the female Clark Griswold, we have 7 Christmas trees in our house, and it takes 3 days to get everything done. We usually try to put up decorations the last weekend in November she has off. It may be Thanksgiving weekend, it may be 2-3 weeks before. Every year is different.
Having said that, people who take down decorations on December 26 are equally wrong, if not more so.
No it's not up. Honestly haven't felt much like it the last few years. Last year my daughter and mother-in-law put it up. We will see if they want to again this year.
Ours go up after the littlest's birthday on the 27th of Nov This year it'll sometime the first week of December. They will absolutely be up until after Epiphany.

We bought a new tree that arrived today. Put it up because it made more sense than dragging it to the attic and pulling it back down in 3 weeks. We'll wait until Thanksgiving to decorate it though. Integrated LEDs are the greatest thing to happen to Christmas trees ever
