Drove to work in the fog.

- Been clenching teeth again last few weeks and it's been miserable last 24 hours. Of all the chronic problems that is not a major problem, this has to be the most annoying, yeah?

- Breakfast tacos in a bit. Do I make or go grab is the question.

- It's 49 degrees here. Don't want to be overdramatic but wow. Merry Christmas everyone!

- Thought about a gym trip. But then I easily thought of a reason not to

- Sig P320s in the wild blowing up again. Giving mine the evil eye, daring it to make a move on me.

Had 2 fairly liberal employees call in sick today which is leaving me fairly short staffed. They've been exemplary workers over the last few years so I'll cut them some slack, but it definitely feels like its based on the results of last night.

When people on either side of the political divide get super wrapped up in an election, they tend to go off the rails every so slightly when it doesn't go their own way. Most Republicans weren't really even keeled in the immediate aftermath of the 2020 election.

Addendum: Another milestone to make me feel super old.

One of the boots (young Marine under my command) I had on my last tour, just made Sgt. Maj. The top enlisted rank in the USMC. I only did four years myself. He was a **** hot Marine who we all knew was going super far though. To me he was just the goofy looking but good natured kid whose turret got stuck in a firefight one time so he just ripped the gun out and stood on the gun truck hip firing it at a bunch of insurgents and broke up the ambush. Straight out of Hollywood I swear. And then apologized for the turret malfunction afterward.

It's like seeing a long lost niece or nephew graduating from college and the last you saw them was as a toddler. Got me in my thoughts.

Woke up several times. I refused to look at my phone though so that I wouldn't either get super excited or super disappointed.
Fairly light day which means catching up on emails and some other stuff.

I'm glad you're cutting them some slack even though it temporarily leaves you with some extra work. This is showing up for them in a way that makes an employer worth working hard for.
