Does nobody else find it weird that so many grown adults get excited, plan parties, and decorate their yards weeks in advance for a so-called "holiday" that is just children dressing up and asking for candy one evening for about 90 minutes?

Halloween is really stupid.

Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and 4th of July are where it's at.

Thanksgiving is mid at best. I mean i'm happy to get the time off but there's nothing special about it. It was never much different than a regular family meal for my family other than what we ate was different. And that meant my mom had to spend all day cooking that meal in the kitchen instead of spending time with family or being relaxed.

Halloween is so much more fun. Kids have the chance to stay up late, be almost anything they want, lots of cool decorations, its basically a big block party on my street. Plus it's an excuse to watch scary movies all month.

Nope, we have a great time at both the Halloween parties with our kids and friends as well as the day of Halloween. Have to enjoy life a bit more!

Yes. I wouldn't say it's stupid. I enjoyed it as a kid and I really enjoy watching my kids enjoy it, but if you celebrate Halloween without any kids that's weird.

Adult trick-or-treating should be a thing. You knock on the door, they hand your kid a bunch of candy and they hand you a beer and a brat or maybe a slice of pizza or a taco or something.

Final tally was 600 fullsize bars/bags, 4 large bags of funsize, a bag of 2.5lbs child's play, and a 12 pack of Sprite

I think that puts us easily at 650 trick or treaters. Man I freaking love Halloween.

Go to fast food restaurants in the days leading up to Halloween and get as many ketchup/sauce packets as possible. When adults or teens that are not dressed up, give them ketchup/sauce instead of candy.

A friend of mine handed out tacos to adults this year.
