They're a popular street food in South Korea.

Yeah I know, I am Korean, my mom said she used to eat them a lot when she was younger

What do they taste like and how do you prepare them for eating?? Or can you just eat them right from the can?

I thought it was a joke, I'm now seeing it's a thing. So I'm asking out of genuine curiosity.

Bugs for eating are ALL over Thailand, too. They're on sticks or in bags. In Mexico they eat crickets like popcorn - by the handful tossed into the mouth. I think they are mostly roasted. Can't speak for Korea or Thailand. I think grilled from what I remember in Thailand.

When I was in Thailand for a military exercise, I had a day off so one of my crew mates and I took a bus down to Khon Kaen from Udon Thani to visit some friends at the university there. We had a great day at Khon Kaen but kost track of time and missed the last bus back to Udon Thani. Friend was a bit panicked because we had to fly the next day and had to figure out how we were going to make the trek 2 hours north at 10pm. So I bought a fry bag of fried grasshoppers and was eating them as we sat on a curb by the bus station. A man and his kid walk by and the man tells his kid, look at the foreigner eating grasshoppers. I responded back that I liked them. He was surprised that I spoke some thai. I explained our situation to him and why we were there. He looks at his kid, looks at us, then tells us to get into the bed of his truck. He drove us 2 hours north to our hotel in Udon Thani. I'll never forget sitting in the back of that open air truck bed, staring up at the starry thai sky thinking I'd never experience something so cool.

So you sealed the envelope with bodily fluids?

To my Santa, send the "package" to the address posted. We are in the process of moving but it will be fine.

To my giftee, 3/4 of your gifts are on the way. Trying to find one more thing to make the gifts truly from me!
