Does anyone have knowledge on brackish & desalination water treatment that comes from deep water aquifers?

- Costs
- Amount of Water or Potential
- What can be done with the effluent?

Texas Water Development Board has a pretty good (if a bit dated) set of pages about brackish water desal. They have some cost estimates dating from 2012 that will at least get you into the ballpark. They would be a good resource to learn more. Desalination Facts - Innovative Water Technologies | Texas Water Development Board

Why desal it? Brawndo already has what the plants crave - electrolytes!

Hypersaline brine is the byproduct of desalination of brackish or seawater. Easiest thing to do if you are working from a well deeper than traditional GW supply wells is to drill a deeper well into an already saline aquifer and re-inject the brine. Or truck/pipe it to an older well field and let them reinject it as part of an enhanced recovery system for crude/gas.

Or make chlorine gas and caustic.
