... in the hope I'll donate to their charity?

I don't.

And I go ahead and use the labels.

Hey, they already incurred the cost of making them. I didn't ask them to. Seems a waste to throw them away.

It's a psychological strategy. They've given you a gift, which triggers in many people a response to give a gift back.

I have a few sheets of those things in the drawer I keep stamps and envelopes in. Not my fault if I make a 1 time donation and they choose to spend it all mailing me regularly trying to get even more.

Have you ever gotten dream catchers, cash, pens, shopping bags, drink coasters, calendars, pen lights or key rings? I have, and probably some other stuff I can't remember. Some family members have gotten some pretty upscale Christmas gifts from me, for sure.

I still have labels from 15 years ago.
I am not obliged to do any charity unless I want to.

I shred them before Wearer of My Ring finds them. I also wash some zip locks.

My rib utilizes the same strategy if she needs specific chores accomplished. One good turn deserves another…if she walks in the room naked and bends over the couch, it means she wants her car washed…
