Paul Sparrow, "Awakening the Spirit of America"

Join us on Tuesday, October 15, as we welcome Paul M. Sparrow, former Director of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum. Sparrow will discuss the importance of presidential rhetoric to inspire and lead, which is an underlying theme in his new book Awakening the Spirit of America: FDR's War of Words with Charles Lindberg and the Battle to Save Democracy.

His narrative brings to life President Roosevelt's struggles and triumphs during his fight to transform America into a world superpower. Spirit of America takes readers up close and personal to FDR's victory over American isolationists and provides pivotal insight to the decisions made during this crucial period in the 20th-century.
The afternoon will include Mr. Sparrow speaking at 12:30 p.m. in the Malek Theater followed by a book signing in the ConocoPhillips Rotunda at the Bush Library & Museum. The event and boxed lunch are free but seating is limited.

Sparrow is a writer, historical consultant, before moving to the FDR Library he was the Deputy Director and Senior Vice President at the Newseum in Washington, DC. He was an Emmy Award-winning documentary and television producer for twenty years. He began his broadcasting career at KPIX, the CBS affiliate in San Francisco. A graduate of UC Santa Cruz, Sparrow also has an MFA from the Center for Contemporary Music at Mills College. We are thrilled to have him in Aggieland.

Barbara's Saturday Storytime, "Harvest Celebrations"

Join us for an exciting Barbara's Saturday Storytime at the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum in the Malek Theater on Saturday, October 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.! This month, our theme is Harvest Celebrations, featuring festivities like Halloween, Diwali, and Dia de los Muertos. Come enjoy captivating book readings and celebrate the joys of the harvest season.

Children will be delighted to discover four special books that showcase these vibrant occasions. After the stories, kids can participate in hands-on activities, including face and pumpkin painting, crafting Diwali elephant ornaments, making Dia de los Muertos magnets, and other fun crafts.
Everyone is encouraged to come dressed as their favorite family-friendly character.

Join us at the Bush Library and Museum as we welcome the Texas A&M Chemistry Road Show featuring Dr. James Pennington, to the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center on Wednesday, October 30.

The Chemistry Road Show will entertain and educate students using chemistry. Through sensory impact and engaging demonstrations, students will have the opportunity to learn that chemistry and chemicals are safe and beneficial when used carefully.

There will be two shows available on Wednesday, October 30: 10-11:30 a.m. and 1-2:30 p.m. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to experience the magic of chemistry and learn about its practical applications in a fun and interactive way!
