The lady in Columbus OH thought her house was haunted when she found her office in disarray one morning. She had recently moved into the house not long before.
She and her husband were putting in a fence and found what looked to be a rolled up carpet/rug buried about 2.5ft underground. She ended up calling the police and some officers came out to take a look. They said yeah it's suspicious but we can't really do anything about it. We don't have the budget to go digging up peoples' yards when they think there might be something there. They said to call them if they dig it up and find anything.
So she is documenting all this on TikTok and a company reached out and offered to dig it up for free with an excavator. She agreed and planned to stream the event on TikTok. The dig was supposed to take place yesterday but she got a call from her local PD homicide dept. They saw all of the attention around it and asked her to pause an let them check the area out with their cadaver dogs first. So they brought out two dogs and let them search the area separately.
BOTH DOGS ALERTED ON THE HOLE WITH THE RUG IN IT.
So now the entire yard is a crime scene and they are going to dig up the rug. They said it could just be some blood that was on the rug, a dead animal, etc, but it's hard to tell at this point. It looks like someone tried to conceal it though because there is a small tree planted directly over the top of the rug.
