I think it's commonplace in foreign markets to taste the fruits and vegetables before buying. Do any of you do this while hitting up your local HEB or Kroger?

I saw a guy eating some grapes the other day. Part of me thought it was a little weird. The other part of me thought it was no big deal.

It's stealing unless it is kept aside for people to taste. So I don't pick up something and eat it.

If it's an item that is weighed then it's obviously stealing but I doubt any grocery store would care if you were buying enough other things

I always taste a red grape before putting the bag in my cart. Wasn't that way all the time…but ended up purchasing bitter red grapes too many times in the past.

For some reason it drives me nuts when I see people eating grapes in the store. I lose nothing from it, but still don't like it. Saw a woman eat half a bag of grapes and then put it on the magazine rack before checking out.

I see people giving their kids a whole banana all the time. Bananas are by the pound so you're obviously not going to be paying for that banana.

Couple grapes I'm okay with, whole banana you're just stealing your kid a snack.

Kroger has a program where kids can have an apple or banana for free. Like HEB gives them a free donut (not sure if that is still in place).
