Thats great to hear. Did you get all the bios settings figured out or have any questions on them? Your ram should show the 3200 to 3600 speeds with xmp enabled depending on which ram you got. There is likely an easy over clock setting on the basic bios page too which should eek out a bit more performance with just a click.

Did you run any benchmarks to make sure your temps are even and in range? I recommend HWmonitor (cpu/mobo/gpu temps) and prime95 (cpu stress test & ram stability) and cinebench (future gpu stress test) for testing your temps. Start them up and let them run a good 10m to saturate your coolers with heat and see how temps look.

Was thinking about this thread last night and wondering how things were going. Great to hear you have it up and running.

Better processor and a decent graphics card.

Looks good from my point of view for what you are wanting.

There's always going to be quirks to install process but there's an abundance of online resources.

we looked at bios for a little bit, we could adjust the speed of the cpu fan, but adjusting the other fan settings didn't seem to do anything. I was afraid to touch any of the ram settings, but xmp was enabled I do remember.

I'd like to do a few benchmarks, I'll report back here when I get around to it. Is that done in windows?

Those programs i linked are available in windows, yes.

Cpu fan or any fans, just leave those on auto. Looks like intel locked this motherboard to not allow easy overclocking. So just make sure xmp is on and you selected the correct speed to match your ram. It should be a dropdown on the main screen or somewhere close. This video looks like a walk through of your motherboard to help find it. Video comments mention him showing how to change the ram speeds.

I built my first gaming computer a few weeks ago. It wasn't difficult, but it took a couple of hours to get it all assembled and make sure I didn't mess anything up.

The most difficult thing for me was deciding on all of the different parts and what I did/did not need as far as higher priced GPU/CPU/Cooling and stuff like that
