Restaurants are now lying about what percentages under the suggested Tip.

If I ever see lying like this, the tip will be 0%.
For those bad at math 15% of $20 is $3, not $5. pic.twitter.com/six7RkUWXF

This is what I'm thinking as well. Very convenient that the pic was cropped to not show the whole receipt.Bruce Almighty said:
I'm calling bs on this unless I see the full receipt. Was there a coupon or some other discount?
Whether they include the 4% to the cost of each item or the cost of the total meal, it's all the same.AggieArchitect04 said:
More annoying than this is the restaurants that add a nominal percentage (4%) to cover health insurance for their employees.
Why is it my responsibility? Pay your employees.

You're going to pay it either way so not sure why you're mad about it.

Build all operating costs into the price of the meal, like it's done in most other civilized countries. Including all wages for workers.
So all you did was just buy some more.superunknown said:C@LAg said:

this is a little harsh, I mean I tip my weed dealer and he hooks me up with a lil extra and everyone benefits

I went grocery shopping at HEB yesterday and they hooked me up. I just had to give them a little cash.jwoodmd said:So all you did was just buy some more.superunknown said:C@LAg said:

To be fair it depends on where you start measuring from

I used to feel this way until I started making regular trips to countries where tipping isn't a thing. The food prices are higher for obvious reasons, but the service in general is below what you expect to receive in the US. I like the fact that I decide how much my server gets paid and can adjust up or down based on job performance. Where there is no tipping, that 20% is built into the price and you pay the same amount whether the service is good or not.

I had it for a year when I was self-employed and it was expensive and didn't seem to offer great coverage. It definitely didn't seem to be on par with group coverage. I think it was BCBSTX.
Simply not true. I'm out of the country 8 days a month, primarily Europe and not only is there no tipping but the service is excellent. Guess wait staff still has pride in their work.Dr. Nefario said:C@LAg said:
