Since we had a laughable 211-186 NBA All Star game last night, I think it'd be fun to rank our most to least favorite All Star game formats.
1. MLB - Seriously, the first and still the best imho. The guys will play somewhat all out. You see great pitching/batter matchups. The Home Run Derby format is starting to suck, but I understand the desire to limit injuries with the new format.
2. NBA - OK, this game is WAY back of #1. And I only have it here because I still like the Slam Dunk contest. The game itself is a damn joke, as evidenced by last night's score. So much standing around on defense.
3. Pro Bowl - The new format of flag football this year actually helped since no one tackled or blocked when they were wearing pads anyways. The skills challenge stuff is silly, but whatever.
4. NHL - I had to look up whether this game is still being held. Turns out in 2025, there will not be one as they do some Four Nations tournament instead. It's been some kinds of 3 on 3 game the last few years.
