Took the SAT and ACT in the spring of 1971. Made an 1154 on the SAT but do not remember what I made on the ACT. I do remember my grades on the CPA exam though.

Back then there was this grid where if you were between X and Y% of your class you needed at least whatever score on the test. I was in the top graduating percentile so the minimum SAT score needed was something like an 800, so I figured the was no point to studying for it.

And herein lies a clue as to why Boeing is having so many problems.

I don't, but I know it wasn't quite enough to get into A&M and I was top quarter in my class. I either didn't know or didn't care that you could take it again. Only took it once and I don't remember ever prepping for it. But it all worked out because my mom went through some pretty significant health issues during my college years and it was good that I was home and went to college locally.

I'm thinking it was 1080 or 1120. Only took it once. It was all I needed to get into Lamar University so never tried again. Transferred to A&M mid-sophomore year and they didn't use it since I had already started college.

1490 out 1600

1420 out of 1600 - 720 on English, 700 on Math.
At my ultra-competitive high school that wasn't even close to the best score.

A guy in my class, and I'm going to let you guess his race, was promised an Acura NSX as a graduation present from his dad if he made a 1550 or higher on the SAT. On his final try he made a 1530, bringing great dishonor to his house.

Never took it.
