Among college graduates with advanced degrees , the highest-earning 10% of male workers made at least $4,623 per week, compared with $3,443 for women in the equivalent group.

More educated women Vs men doing manual labor jobs. 60+% female college classes for the last decade it starting to tilt the compensation bias the other way. AI will slow that trend down soon enough though. A computer can't replace skilled physical labor as easily as office labor. Of course teachers and nurses are physically present jobs…. It'll all balance out over time.

I love women

I hate the fact that they can lie to themselves and each other and men and the lies get validated and excused by society because they are women. It's sexism at its finest.

The gender pay gap as an institutional thing is a myth.

It does not exist. 99% of the gap can be explained by women's career, educational, and employment choices. And women are 100% getting preference over men in regards to pay and hiring preferences now simply because they are women and for women to continue to complain about a nonexistent thing and for it to get validated is privilege at its finest.

Not when you equalize for experience, hours, and years worked. There is no recent reputable study that shows a 20% pay disparity for the same job, same experience, same hours worked.

NONE.

The gap is reduced to 95 cents on the dollar AT WORST when all those things are equilized.

You can't take 5 years off to raise kids, demand to work 5-10 hours less a week than your male counterparts and demand the same promotional opportunities, pay, and expect to be in the same professional place as your male counterparts.

This is just the reality of it. Working longer, harder and dedicating ur life to work above ur personal relationships generally gets u further professionally.

And that is not to say that women are less than or stupid for hitting a point where they don't want to kill themselves for their job and want to put family first.

The biggest question is why ANYONE would want to sacrifice all that for their job.

Only a small percentage of people do.

And it just so happens 90% of those people happen to be men.

And the gap virtually disappears when you start looking at more comparable granular data for the same types of workers with the same work output working the same amount of hours with the same credentials with similar experience in the same job roles.

The issue is personal choice driven. The populations as groups voluntarily and willingly have tendencies to make different employment and career choices, and that alters outcome distributions over any measures that don't account for the variables involved. If you pick an insufficient level of analysis that shows a difference at that level of granularity and then misconstrue what the analysis is actually capable of indicating, you can convince people something exists that really doesn't when the comparable populations have more and more confounding variables filtered out or compensated for.

if equally qualified and capable and willing to work males and females were available and for some bizarre reason the females would work for a little less, it wouldn't be long before more and more males were unemployed, replaced by the females, and wouldn't that bring down the male average right quick? The business doesn't and shouldn't care what set of chromosomes you bring to work.

The ignorance displayed on this board is surprising. The female Aggie engineers who graduated in 1987 - including my wife - received the exact same offers as males. Female incomes began to lag when they made the great decision to stay home with children, only to return to the workforce years later. That has always been the driving force in the pay gap, as it should be. Almost four decades later everyone in tech knows that males, especially white males, are heavily discriminated against, when hiring decisions and salary increases are made.
As MLK said, we should treat people based on their genitals or the color of their skin, not the content of their character, right? Even if that means lowering standards for all professions including surgeons and airplane pilots.

I'll start standing up advocating for women as soon as they stand up and start advocating for men in child custody cases and demand change for antiquated laws. Even the best men get completely screwed over when it comes to their kids and it's wrong. It's been wrong for a long time.

And spare me the "women do more". This isn't ****ing Mad Men. Men aren't working all day and then come and, sit in the recliner, and completely skirt their parental or home responsibilities. If you're with a man that does that, and you don't like it, THAT IS COMPLETELY ON YOU. This narrative that all men are completely useless at home and with kids is perpetuated by women and media.

Having been a manager at a Fortune 20 company, I can assure you that, across large teams of engineers, the women earn exactly the same as the men. In fact, due to hiring initiatives the corporation mandates, they tend to earn more in the lower labor grades.

So why do government studies say women earn $0.77 for every $1 men earn? Well, you have to dig into the details of those surveys to find the answers. I do a lot of statistical analysis in my job, so this is right in my round house.

Obviously, to compare people, you have to group them. You can't compare a truck driver to a nuclear physicist. But how DO you group them?

The big government study a few years back that derived that $0.77 couldn't get down to the level of - compare aerospace engineers or compare registered nurses - that was too hard. So they did groups like "works in an office-like setting and requires at least a bachelors degree.

So they were comparing school teachers to engineers. They were comparing financial analysts to paralegals.

So that study is pure BS.

This is typical woman-speak. A lot of words with a lot of hinting but no specifics.
My wife said something like this yesterday.

When we argue, and she accuses me of stuff, I, like a man would do, ask her to cite instance of when it happened. But she can come up with none. So then she diverts the issue to something else to cry about. It is typical woman behavior, not in their control, so better to ignore it and not provoke more of it.

What I shudder is when a woman becomes President of the US. Biden, Trump, Obama may be incompetent at worst but BSC is a whole different level now. 90% of women made CEO because of DEI have failed and the Boards have covered up because they don't want to seem sexist.
