New benefit this year with work - this thing called One Pass that has a bunch of free health club memberships and free Walmart + with free delivery options.

So I just ordered groceries that I normally would have gone for on Sunday AM - and it added a default 10% tip which I promptly zeroed out

I don't tip the Amazon driver,so why should I tip Walmart?

Wife said this was mean of me. What say you TexAgs?

You're most likely not stiffing Walmart and instead some poor third party independent contractor.

Depends on how hot she is and if she delivers on roller skates like at Sonic.

Tipping is encouraging bad habits.

So in most cases I don't tip. And I never go beyond 18-20%. If they don't like it, they should get a better job like the rest of us. And companies will be forced to pay more and charge more and get to a stable point.

That is real capitalism. I don't support socialism.

Lol. They absolutely will not do this.

I'm not going to tip the walmart people because most likely they are the ones who are putting the order together in the store and getting in my way while I shop.

Nothing drives me more nuts than when one of the walmart personal shoppers is blocking my way with their big a** cart and gives me a dirty look when I say excuse me while squeezing by. I hate how more and more stores are doing this.

Real capitalism is what causes restaurant workers to only make $2/hr or whatever, and have to rely on tips in the first place.

I do because they have to lug a ton of crap from the store to their car and from their car to my porch.

This is literally what they were hired to do. If they didn't do it then a drone would be doing it and they wouldn't have a job.

Do you tip the people who stock the shelves and have to haul stuff all the way from the back of the store to the shelves right before u put it in ur cart?

Because the two jobs are eerily similar.

Except with the stock person job you have to carry heavier loads.

If you are a server at a high end restaurant u make far and above the minimum wage. Servers at mid tier restaurants can make good money too, especially if u work the bar. Almost all the places that pay a minimum wage vs tips the servers see a decrease in pay and hate it.

I know several professional servers making six figures.

Percentage wise, how many restaurant workers make six figures versus those that make ~$2/hr plus tips?

Some of you on here sound like the type of people who justify not returning your cart to the designated spot in a parking lot because you're "creating American jobs" by leaving them stranded.

Do people generally tip Uber drivers like you would a restaurant server? To me it seems nuts.

I always default to a $2 tip for Uber.

The delivery driver is doing a service specifically for me. This is an apples to oranges comparison. Do you tip the pizza delivery guy? If so, why? That is literally his job.

Ordered delivery from Walmart + today. Tipped 15% bc it was nasty weather which is why I didn't drag my own sick carcass out of the house to do it myself.

Kroger/King soopers has grocery delivery, and if you have them deliver it (not third party instacart), it literally blocks out the tip spot and says kroger employees can't accept tips.

So no, I don't tip the grocery delivery, because I use kroger and they don't allow it.

Oddly enough, kroger delivery is $5; instacart is $10 (plus tip).

Not sure who is dumb enough to chose instacart.
