What's the worst halftime show you've ever seen?

I can remember the SMU band being particularly boring at Kyle Field ('91, I think it was) during halftime, and the wave broke out. Lasted for the rest of their show. The yell leaders published a collective angry letter in Monday's Batt.

I need someone to help my memory. In one of the cotton bowl games in the early 90's, didn't Billy Ray Cyrus play achy breaky heart? Or did someone do a dance to it? Either way…lots of booing and lack of entertainment.

I went to all three of those and don't remember that.

I do remember Ms. America butchering the national anthem.

Both of the halftime shows at this years NFL Thanksgiving Day games were terrible.

Dolly is a national treasure so your opinion is moot.

Truth, but Granny needs to wear more clothes.
My buddy got to see her naked about 30 years ago. Seriously.

That's my whole point. Half time shows or for women and gays, neither of which watch football. Prince was an amazing guitar player, doesnt mean his stage show and genre of music wasnt gay as ****.
Hmm.

I always found that Prince songs helped to get heterosexual women in a mood to take off their pants.

Maybe it is a Minnesota thing.

Although they were hangers (impossible not to be), They were not saggers. Oh, and they were glorious.

I didn't believe he had actually seen it for quite a long time, but his account was actually corroborated.

BTW, I happen to think she's a very good person. Uber creative, great business sense, and incredibly charitable.

Few celebs have had her staying power.

Watching the prairie view A&M band dry hump the ground while the crowd all immediately subconsciously agrees that it is the greatest thing ever, would be up there for me.

Probably an internet phenomenon, but she's getting more appreciation these days than I recall her getting back in the 80's - 10's. That said, she got a passing mention in a Cheech and Chong movie, something about clearing off a place for her to sit, IIRC.

All that said, go down some YouTube rabbit holes of her old stuff, and it's clear that she is wicked smart, charming, knows exactly what she's doing, but still comes off as genuine. Maybe it's just how I'm wired, but I don't see how any straight man would not have a crush on 1970's-80's Dolly Parton.

The nerdiest guy I knew in 1979 (valedictorian that year at my school) had a literal shrine to her set up in his bedroom. I never understood the obsession and it, in fact, set off such alarms that I never trusted anything remotely Dolly after that.

That said, although I've blocked the exact time and place of the event from my memory, it was a high school football half time show that had exactly one dude on the flag squad that was clearly really, REALLY into it - think RuPaul on cocaine into it. I don't remember anything else about the show - not the band, team, town, year - just that very disturbing dude giving me some major league creeps from down on the field.
