Please. Hart or any other Dem, had no chance against Bush in '88. Bush was riding high from his association with the greatest President this country has ever known. Dem's had no one to run against Bush in '88 and settled for that Munchkin from the northeast who tried to look tough while sitting in the turret of a tank. Joke.

I think the greater fall from Dems for moral turpitude was John Edwards. He seemed a shoe-in for the 2008 nomination since Obama was such an unknown.

He definitely was the favorite.

There was audio after one of the debates of Hillary telling him "we need to distance ourselves from the others". In her mind it was going to come down to him and her. A lot of people thought that as well.
