I'm hungry, Popeye's is 2 mins away while Taco Bell is about 5 minutes.

What should I eat?

The Popeye's by my house has gone to sh** since the pandemic. The portions are smaller and the food tougher.

Popeyes

Popeyes. Order blackened strips and they'll almost always have to cook them fresh

Taco Bell. Destroy something.

Popeyes recruits all of their employees from local NA meetings

I just finished off 6 crunchy tacos and an order of nacho fries. It was delicious.

Did you put a little diablo sauce on them bad boys?

They also have some of the worst service times I've ever seen. Its been years, but last time I went to a Popeyes, it probably took nearly 30 minutes to get food.

One out of ten times Popeyes is on point. That is embarrassing. But that one time always outshines everything a typical fastfood place puts out. But it shouldn't be a crap shoot to get decent fastfood.

Taco bell is consistently mediocre. Unless I overeat there I don't really hate myself for doing that.

But damn, if both of these places were next to each other I'm going to have a difficult time on whether I want a 10% chance at a great fastfood meal or a 90% chance at barely average experience.

Blackened chicken sandwich is so good…if it's fresh

My last two trips to Taco Bell:

"We can't make anything but tacos right now" (so I order loco tacos). "Sorry sir, but those will be stale and I don't feel good selling that to you" (actually appreciated this)

"It's going to be a 20min wait on any beef related item"

I stopped going to Popeyes a few years ago when they said I couldn't use my coupon because I didn't tell them about it when I placed my order instead of when I got to the window. Well, that and when you get that 1 in 3 chance of getting chicken that tastes like rubber. Bad customer service and bad food deserves to fail.

Popeyes has gone to complete ***** The pieces of chicken they give you may as well be nuggets for what little meat you get.

Better chance of witnessing a World Star fight at Popeyes.

The nacho fries at Taco Bell were pretty good.

The new grilled cheese nacho fries are pretty damn good at TB.

Content like that is why I can't quit TexAgs. I just don't know that I would find it without this place.

All I know is don't bother with the Popeyes shrimp. They take a tiny little salad shrimp and batter it about ten times so you are basically eating a grease soaked chunk of fried breading with a hint of shrimp inside.

I don't understand how there is not one Popeyes that is run well. There food is good but they constantly are out of something, or you will be waiting 20+ mins for food.
