To make the question interesting it needs to be something like $100M vs $1B . A lot of people already have millions so it's not that meaningful. The upside of the $B is too great to pass up.

Definitely needs to be higher than $! million to make it interesting. $5-10 million is an amount most people would say would be enough to "tap out" and live comfortably off of. But $1 billion puts you into an entirely different lifestyle.
And, yes, flip the coin if it's $1 million. That's an easy one.

It would be really interesting to see how this would play out with real money on the line. I'm guessing more people would take the million than not. I'd take the million knowing if it came up on the wrong side, I'd carry the regret of being greedy the rest of my life.

If you're still under 50, taking the million is a far better choice.

Throw it into an S&P 500 index fund, and you'll have a lot more by 60.

You guys are insane. A million vs a billion?. You'd be giving up a 50% chance at having the ability to change the world and have countless generations of your family completely taken care of in exchange for…a small (comparatively) boost to your savings or retirement account? No.

If it's $10 million right now instead of a million, I'm thinking a little harder, but a million these days is not meaningfully changing your life. I know if you don't make much money, it probably seems like it would, but it wouldn't.
