La Fonda is very legit, my brother in law just got married there in June. My wife's stepdad is part owner of the hotel and his sister runs it. You can walk anywhere you want to eat or go within 5 minutes. I also had the best juevos rancheros I've ever had at the restaurant in the lobby.

Within walking distance of square. We sat outside. Very nice. Great food and great customer service.

Also try Herve wine Bar a block off the square. Great wines and food. And Rancho de Chimayo is a short drive to a restaurant run by same family for years.

But la posada is one block off the square and has a cool bar/parlor: patio

Can't really go wrong at most of the places already listed

A few months ago we stayed at the St. Francis hotel next to the square and had my birthday dinner at La Plazuela (restaurant in the first floor of La Fonda) which was great. I also recommend The Pantry for breakfast.

It was 50 degrees at night in the Summer…could go for some of that right about now.

Just ate at Horno. Great food and service. Weather is great, especially after South Tx heat.
