I was quoted $4,500 before insurance for Invisalign express through my dentist/ortho referral. Seems high.

This is the GB. No one here was born with genetically inferior teeth. That's just plain gross.

I file this under a "you get what you pay for" kind of thing. I would just go to the dentist and do it through them if you want alignment trays.

Wuss.

I can knock your teeth out with a baseball bat and carve you a wooden set for $25 without insurance.

A Leslie Pool employee can knock them straight for free.

Tbh I didn't read the post just the title and thought this was one of the mail order things so apologies about that. We paid several thousand for my wife to have trays years ago and that included follow up visits and trays for several years so I think it was well worth it to have the watchful eye of the dentist. Maybe get a couple other quotes. It is pretty dammed expensive though, unfortunately.

I paid $5k in august 2021. Included all of the treys and visits. I had to have new treys made a couple of times because my teeth didn't move they way they'd hoped which extended it bet many months which didn't cost any extra.

One thing the didn't tell me going in was that when you get your teeth set the way you want them you have to wear them another 6 months to hold them in place before you go to just wearing them at night. That was frustrating to find out when I thought I was done.

You get used to them but they're still a pain to deal with. Overall though I'm very happy I did it. I think my teeth look great now.

Great to hear! That was Invisalign Express through your ortho? My quote was for 6 mo to 12 mo. Getting a 2nd opinion

My boss has the setup that gives you unlimited trays for life for something like $6K and he has been happy with it.

My issue was I stopped wearing my retainer, like the majority of everyone else who goes through braces, so my top teeth esp could use an adjustment

But I did like the Leslie's suggestion. I might be making a trip to the College Station store and letting them know ReloadAg referred me

I didn't know there was an express option but maybe my teeth needed more than that could handle.

Before you use your dentist for Ortho, go see a real Ortho.

My dentist insisted I can do Invisalign but I had my doubts bc one tooth is really out if alignment. I asked an acquaintance who works at the dental school at UMKC and he looked at my teeth and said "yeah, no way . Invisalign is designed for small movements, not major correction. It's sad but a lot of these dentists go to a "workshop" somewhere for a weekend and suddenly know orthodontics".

I got two consults from Ortho's and both did Invisalign, but said the Invisalign would not work for me. And their cost to do wire braces was the same as the dentist's costs to do Invisalign. So it wasn't a money thing.
