You should ask for those little plastic clamps they give to kids to hold your chopsticks together
I ate at Giros in Tokyo and used my fingers so if it is ok for this Michelin rated restaurant it should be acceptable.
I use chopsticks in public because I don't want to look like a complete rube even though I'm not great with them. If I'm eating it ah home I use a fork.

Chopsticks are just proof that east Asians are the most stubborn people in the world. Forks are vastly superior and have been around for hundreds(?) of years. But Asians still won't adapt.

forks would destroy a sushi roll, no? If you want to dunk it in something you would have to stab it. Chop sticks are superior for sushi.
That's why you stab the face of the roll, not the top.
sushi aint got no face. All I know is that when I get my sushi from HEB I want an authentic japanese experience, some of you mouth breathers dont understand class and sophistication.

Not many obese populations using chopsticks to eat their carbs on the regular. Maybe it slows food intake.

A fork should never be used, chop sticks are acceptable, but your fingers are the preferred delivery method

I use the chopsticks that are at the end of my hands. Usually the forefinger and thumb, but if I'm feeling exotic I use index and middle fingers to change things up and draw quizzical looks from those around me.

Acceptable? Hardly. Only acceptable in the sense that when you see an ape in the zoo flinging it's poo, you just look at it in disgust and move on.

Japanese eat sushi with their fingers unless it's a low class sushi joints. It's the ultimate finger food
