Hotel Laundry

Two washing machines and two dryers.

At what point is it acceptable to remove someone else's laundry from a dryer and/or washing machine after the cycle is completed?

One dryer was done and creating a backlog. I waited a while them removed and folded the laundry from a dryer so the next person could use it. Now the second dryer is done and the laundry is sitting in the dryer. A load of clean laundry is sitting in a washing machine.

It seems to me that if there's a line and you are not there to attend to your laundry it's okay for others to move things along.

I just want to get my clothes washed. I can hang them to dry, if necessary.

Kind of irritated that there's a washer and a dryer sitting here full of laundry that needs to be moved out to make the machine available to the next waiting person.

Move the clothes.

Also, it's frustrating when the machines are full.

Move the clothes. You're nicer than me, I dump them on the table if they've been in there for a while. I work nights so I usually end up doing my laundry around 3-4 in the morning unless the hotel has a no laundry after midnight policy.

Yeah, they never showed up. If there's ever a next time I'm just relocating the clothes.

If you aren't happy someone else moved your laundry, don't leave it unattended!

I've never heard of or thought of doing laundry in a hotel.

Depends on how much you travel for work .

If I use the valet service at the hotel for laundry, it comes out of my per diem. If I just need to wash underwear, short, t-shirts, etc, hotel laundry is much cheaper and quicker.

We used hotel washing machines when we went to kids out of state tournaments that lasted a week or more. Players uniforms get dirty and we just through in the rest of our clothes as well. My wife would wash them with the other moms and they would open up bottles of wine while doing laundry.

LOL the second time in two weeks someone on the TexAgs board had the same issue I did.

I set my timer when I put in the washer, and had to go down 4 times before and after as the other machines had stopped running but the owners did not take out their laundry

in the end, being in the Middle East I just went back upstairs rather than touching someone else's stuff. eventually they came down and finished.

Right? They've were being rude (IMO) but I didn't want to be rude.

I've never done hotel laundry before. It was my driving jeans that I wanted to wear for TWO days of driving. I opened a can of Diet Coke that my son dropped then handed to me. He didn't know what the result of dropping the can would be. Jeans were stained.

But maybe he was just punking me.

Take a dump in the dryer full of clothes. That'll teach 'em not to leave their crap in the dryer and make everyone else wait.

It would. But it would also take the dryer out of commission. If you need a dryer it's counter-productive.

Yeah, it's been a long time since I was on the road for extended periods. Usually in small towns where I'd have to find a laundromat or dry cleaners that offered full service laundry.

You should have left a note that you were accepting tips at room ____ for folding their clothes. You're welcome
