When i saw this story yesterday, it was reported that an employee got sucked into the engine and the pic shows the plane at the gate. Made no sense. Now it does.

The ones I read described it as ingested into the engine which sounded even more gruesome.

I recall a harrowing tale I heard as a kiddo about a crew chief who worked at the 149th (Kelly AFB) who damned near had the same outcome in a F16.

I'm pretty sure, or perhaps what I mean is I really hope, that people who are allowed free access to commercial aircraft don't have the kind of criminal records that would keep them from buying a shotgun.

In a case like this, I suspect the decedent is hoping that his death will be perceived as an accident and possibly get his next of kin some money.

My Aggie buddy was on that flight. Said he was sitting just behind a lady that witnessed it. They told everyone to shut the window shades and they couldn't get their checked bags until the next day.

Why mid-flight instead of before takeoff? Was someone was sucked into the engine in mid-flight?

They probabaly didn't have enough gates available in SAT anymore to handle their flight due to emergency vehicles/investigations, etc.
