Starting May 15th, teens between the ages of 14-19 can work out for free all summer long. No time restrictions provided the gym is open.

I am NOT poor. My teenaged sons are.

The curmudgeon in me thinks that this sucks, primarily because it means my local Planet Fitness will be more crowded this summer.

But will it really be? It's probably kind of like January.

Holy crap. There is no way this is going to end well. Riots, gun shooting, you name it. The feral poplulation is going to take over...

On the bright side, I don't go to planet fatness.

It will be a bunch of kids sitting around on all the equipment playing games and watching anime on their phones.

The one near me is packed all of the time. The free weights are always occupied, and you often have to wait for machines, as well. It's always packed with high school kids, which I don't get, because if they play sports, there are free gyms for them to use at school.

One of my boys likes to work out. We have TWO wight sets/machines at home. He has a gym available at school. He may like this if he gets to use equipment not otherwise available to him.

But he won't have a license this summer and the nearest PF is about 15 minutes away so he may not get to go much. But I'll sign him up. I can drop him off when I run errands and pick him up when I am done.

Challenge him to set off the lunk alarm.
