Does this mean that we have collectively given up on staying in shape and let go and become fatties?

The more fat people out there, the better. It just gives us fit people less competition for friends, sex, employment, and basically everything else. Cry all you want about equality. When push comes to shove, attractive and fit people who demonstrate self-discipline through physical fitness and moderated diet will always be preferential to fatass slobs in almost any situation.

Why be responsible for yourself with a good diet and exercise when you can just take a type IIdiabeticdiabeetus medication that strips out fat and muscle for you?

Theres a thing called genetic variation. Fat people quite literally feel more hungry than skinny people and their body tells them to eat more and more frequently than a naturally skinny person. It's why you can look at a persons genetic report and say this person is x times more likely to be obese. Even at a healthy weight they are more inclined to feel hungry than a naturally skinny person.Tex117 said:

My husband can eat anything he wants and won't gain an ounce. I can look in the general direction of food and gain five pounds. Aside from being fat, I am in excellent health and my doctor says I landed the genetic variation that predisposes me to very low cholesterol and low risk of other cardiovascular problems.Quote:

I'm 6'3" 190 lbs. Don't have to work out to stay normal weight, don't have to diet to stay normal weight, and quite frankly haven't taken very good care of myself and have never even had to give a single thought about my weight. I can go 5 days without eating and would not once feel hungry. At worst I would feel tired for a day.
Yeah, but get this - my insurance will cover medication, treatment, doctor visits, specialists, etc. for all of the health problems and ailments that result from obesity, yet they will not cover medications or anything else that treats or prevents obesity as the primary cause of those things. My doctor prescribed Mounjaro and insurance turned it down because my A1C is 5.6, not 5.8. I submitted a HSA reimbursement request for the Noom program costs and it was rejected as an "ineligible expense."Emotional Support Cobra said:
I thi k reducing obesity across the population and lifespan would be a positive for society and for insurance rates. I never understood how there was not a greater cry for weight loss during covid since its effects were the primary cause of severe outcome.
