Mostly warm white. May use bright white in some areas as long as it leans toward the warm end

  • Soft White (Yellow Range, 2700K to 3000K): This is the standard color of incandescent bulbs. These bulbs are perfect for illuminating bedrooms, living rooms or dens and highlighting dark woods.
  • Warm White (Between the Yellow and White Ranges, 3000K to 4000K): These bulbs are perfect for kitchens, workspaces and bathrooms.
  • Bright White (Between the White and Blue Ranges, 4000K to 5000K): These bulbs work best in kitchens and bathrooms with chrome or white fixtures.
  • Daylight (Blue Range, 5000K to 6500K): These bulbs are perfect for reading because they're bright but still easy on the eyes.

Soft white for most rooms. They seem yellowish which feels good.
I don't like the white lights. Gives a hospital feel.

Soft white or warm white depending on the use of the term. 2700K or the 100 watt incandescent equivalent. Daylight or bright white is for stores, or like mentioned above, hospital work. Sure. Bright is great. I don't need bright at home. I have plenty of overhead lighting I can use if needed but most often a room is lit by one maybe two 2700k lamps. I hate bright cold looking light in the home.

Yes, I agree.
I am experimenting 3000K in the bathrooms. It's not too bad there. Or the laundry room.

I think the best thing in the garage is cans in 2700K or 3000K and then do some 5000K worklights. A mixture is better for working and you get better coverage with cans. You can run just the cans on a dimmer when you want a more chill atmosphere. I put the current 48" 3000K in just to sell the house. Garage lighting can be tough to do efficiently thanks to garage doors covering half the ceiling and the necessity of good light coverage for working on stuff. I'm tempted to go hexglow lighting in my new shop, but it's spendy.
