Apparently I have been making air popped popcorn and that's different than doing it on the stove with a big ass pot like a pioneer or a 1950s housewife. And that's where you'd use the oil.

Buttered popcorn dipped in a mustard/ketchup mixture (but nacho cheese is also good)

Started doing that when I worked concessions at Cinemark back in HS

You drop the conconut oil in the kettle. Wait for it to melt, then dump in the kernels, following that up with flavacol sprinkling. This is for popcorn machines anyway
