They need to lock the owners up for a long time if the report turns out to be accurate.
They should have hooked a hose to a hydrant and blasted them down the street.
Those dogs need to be euthanized.

We really need a register for pet ownership with strict requirements and penalties for neglecting/harming animals, negligence that harms humans, etc. You have a major **** up? No more animals for you. I don't know why people get pets just to let them roam (in the city at least) or sit in the back yard anyway.

Have owned an RV park for several years. Pits are among the breeds we don't allow. Over time, I have become aware that while the breed should be avoided at all costs, those who would own a pit are not people you want as tenants (or neighbors) either.C@LAg said:

I have a pitbull and if any of you have a problem with it, we'll put our dogs in the cage, fight 'til the death, winner takes all.
Per animal control all three dogs have been euthanized.

Multiple calls to the city never amounted to anything - outside Animal Control hours, dogs were no longer out, dogs couldn't be found, yada yada yada.
Neighbor at the end of our subdivision took care of business one day on his own. Never heard of any more problems. I guess the dog's owner wonders sometimes what happened to them.

If I found out a pit bull was loose in my neighborhood, I'd have the family inside, and I'd be on one of the crews to hunt it down and kill it.

The rate of problems with these dogs is very low in absolute terns. On the order of death by Lightning. But, it is also very high compared to other breed options.
Imho, if they bred the tendency into the breed, they could breed it out with temperament selection in about 10 generations. That's about 20 years of a good breed selection program.
The problem there is there is a large portion of trash breeders that select and breed these dogs to be aggressive, and another large portion of breeders that just don't care, and are only about looks, so it is very difficult to fix the problem.

This is why I wish more agency's would train and authorize EMS/fire personnel to have a firearm on duty.

One guy was talking to me while sitting in his pickup, asking about prices. I asked about dogs and we began the song and dance about pit bulls. I didn't realize the dog was in the back seat of the pickup. He jumped out of the back seat, into the driver's lap, snapping and snarling all while the driver was trying to keep him from getting out of the window. Had it been all the way down, I think it would have gotten out.

Don't watch the video of the actual attack. It is partially blurred but you can see flesh being ripped off. I need some eye bleach.
This is awful. Not as bad as people in a breeder group I'm in asking if they should just let their pits hunt. Here's a SS. This 2 people going back and forth. Names removed because I'm not here to **** on people. But sent this to a couple friends and we were all like WTF.

Wow. Wowowow. Couple has their "fur baby pitties" for 8 years, never an inkling of violent behavior.... Until they maul and kill their two small children and leave mom in critical condition.
This is a bull**** breed that should not be legal to own.
I don't care about how Dalmatians are supposedly more violent. After you get rid of all the trash pit bulls, assess other breeds.
