I enjoy titanic history so the love story was crappy, but all the other stuff involving the historical people and events was pretty good imho.

It would've made for a better movie.
Every movie is better with Robocop in it.

Except, strangely, Robocop 3.

I did like how they explained the design of the ship, all the safety blunders that were made, how it sank. The history and engineering stuff was pretty interesting.

Check out "Saving the Titanic" on YouTube. It was made in 2012 and focuses on the engineering crew of the Titanic.

May have had an argument if old Rose hadn't tossed the necklace at the end.

Two options for greatest movie of all time.

1. Gone with the Wind - 0.15% of the world's population saw it before we had any of the technological advances from WW2. Nothing else has come close unless you count the Chinese movies from the 80s that never made it out of China.

I will never knock Star Wars, but GWTW? Snoooooooooooze.

It's a long movie but great. That scene with all the wounded after the battle in Atlanta was so massive, and it really gave you a sense of how brutal the Civil War was for people living in that time.

At one point not long ago, I believe GWTW was still the all-time leader in number of tickets sold. Obviously not in dollars because tickets back then were a nickel or something.

When you consider how many fewer screens there were and how small some of the theaters were, it's even more impressive.

A Titanic script rewrite with Robocop in it is really sounding incredible right now.

Robocop: "Cal Hockley is wanted for supplying false evidence to a crime."
Titanic Captain Theoden: "That's a serious charge, Officer. What's your proof?
Robocop (connects to the ship's radio, plays recording)
Cal's voice on recording: "I had to frame Jack Dawson because he made a mistake. Now it's time to erase that mistake (repeats)"
Cal holds a gun to Theoden's head.
Theoden: "Cal! You're sunk!"
Robocop shoots Cal 500 times and his bullet-ridden body falls overboard onto the iceberg.
Robocop: "Looks like you'll have that drink on the rocks, Mr. Hockley."

I'd be willing to give it another chance. It's been YEARS since I watched it; I'd be surprised if I even finished it. I'm REALLY surprise I survived The Titanic (lol puns) or Avengers Endgame since both were beasts in length, just like GWTW.

I saw GWTW with my girlfriend at the time and her dad. He had rented it (this was in the mid-90's). It was really cold in the house because it didn't have central heat (very old house) and the heater in that room was cutting it. My gf and I were covered under a big quilt. It was a long movie but turned out to be a good night.

We also watched Ten Commandments and Wizard of Oz in similar arrangements. Her dad liked the classics.

WTF is this? Lol

Titanic?
Robocop?

Prob I'm thinking this was a drunk/emotional post.

But, um, no.

These are way better IMO:
Casablanca
Shawshank
Godfather
12 Angry Men
Dr Strangelove
Lawrence of Arabia
North x Northwest
Amelie
The Sting
Taxi Driver
…more, but I got disinterested adding more.

2. Star Wars - Enormous ticket sales, modernized the scifi movie and brought it into the mainstream, and sort of created its own subculture. Responsible for the creation of ILM, and shoehorned its way into Disney parks before Disney even owned it. Single-handedly resurrected the movie industry, so it gets my vote.

I'm ready for a titanic remake with an all female black cast. Except the captain of the ship who rammed the ice berg. He gets to stay white.

They played that song so much that I have PTSD from it, I don't even know if the movie is good anymore because I'll never see it again. I can't think of a song that got more overplayed as quickly as that one in the late 90's. It was everywhere, you could not escape from it.

No. The iceberg is the symbol of white, Jewish, privilege. Why else would it be called a berg?
