I think they were made by LA Gear and they had a specific name that was not "light up shoes."

I think they were just called "lights" but the branding was (I think) "Light Gear."

Couldn't convince my parents to buy me L.A. Lights, but they were totally down to buy me a pair of Redwing Brogans that were two sizes too big to grow into.

My cousin had a pair for one day. They burned up on a campout that night.

My aunt was not pleased. He made up a story that he left them outside the tent and a dog wandered up and carried both shoes away.

They were "L.A. Lights". Nobody wore non-lit L.A. Gear shoes. Maybe like a gym bag or something but the shoes were king.

in 2nd grade I was rockin LA Lights, Girbaud jean shorts, and one of those "basketball is life" tee shirts. In high school, that would have gotten me called something I probably can't post here.

I remember those shoes were popular with the po-lice because it made it easy to follow people who were running away.
