If you like to just relax on the deck all day while having some drinks, avoid Carnival. They have a 5 or 6 drink per day limit (which is understandable, given their clientele). I'd hit that by noon and then be bored as crap the rest of the day.

RC has an unlimited drink package for like $60/day. The ship we were on didn't have anything higher than mid range spirits, but I was still able to more than break even.

Carnival does not have a 5-6 drinks/day limit. They also have the unlimited drink package for around $60/day.

We didn't have the drink package when we sailed on the Dream in 2019, so we paid per drink. If it wasn't 5-6, it wasn't many more than that before being cut off.

Looking online, they offer a drink package (Cheers), but you're still limited to 15 in a 24 hour period. "Program allows for up to 15 alcoholic drinks per 24 hour period. Once the limit is reached, the guest will not be served ANY additional alcoholic drinks."

With Carnival, you will get cheap entertainment. No thanks.

We have been on a lot of cruises including Norwegian, Princess, Royal Caribean, MSC and Oceania. Of those, Oceania is by far the nicest. MSC was pretty nice to. The other three were about the same and I would do any of them again as well. Never been on a Carnivel Cruise. I hear the Disney Cruises are really nice too.

I went on a carnival cruise back in the day as in 2008 with some buddies because we failed to actually plan a trip so we booked a last minuted out of Galvy. Never again, that thing was an EastTexas Walmart with a Golden Corral on water…. We were young and cheap but still wasnt our scene. We still laugh about it to this day.

My folks (early 70s and reasonably active) love Viking - they've done China, Australia/New Zealand, and Germany. They're doing an Arctic cruise this summer and a Portuguese river cruise next year. Definitely seems to skew older, but a lot of the cruises have expedition add-ons that include some more active stuff, and I think they have had some younger people on their boats.

You get cut off at 15 whether you have the drink package or not. That is unless you're acting drunk and then they'll cut you off whatever # you are on. I see someone had too many White Claws on their cruise.

It's been years since we sailed on Carnival - I just remember running out of drinks by lunch each day. Even at 15, what's that, a couple of 1oz pour bloody marys or mimosas at breakfast, then 3-4 beers an hour? You're done by noon. Enjoy the rest of your day on a floating Walmart stone sober.

Typically you get off at the ports and explore the area. Then your 15 drinks starts around 3-4 pm. If I have a port excursion planned the next day, I like to be in bed by 10 m. Therefore... 7 hours @ 2 drinks/hour.

One thing we love about Carnival is the having some drinks at the pool side bar and people watching. Carnival is top notch for people watching!

I don't wear underwear. It constricts my massively big johnson. I need the freedom of a pants/shorts leg to let it hang free and breath.

I can't imagine being near that even if someone paid me to do it. Much less shelling out my own money for the privilege of seeing world star hip hop videos in person.

Just got back from Viking cruise. Don't go unless you're about 90 years old. Oh my goodness.

I'm 39, was the youngest person there by about 30 years. Absolutely dominated the drink package, but there was absolutely nothing to do between ports but booze. Haven't drank that much since college. Staff was first class, but the people youre on there with are very old, very opinionated, very much want to show you pictures of people you dont care about. Food was meh, but better than what most cruise lines serve i think.

You get what you pay for.

Been on Disney, RC and carnival. The 5 day Carnival was slightly better than the 4 day in terms of people. The only people thing that really matters is who you take with you to make the sex with.

Was definitely a better class of clientele. There was only one guy, in his 70's I would guess, that was an issue on the whole cruise. He kept saying racist **** and trying to put drinks on my room because I was one of the very few who paid for the drinks package (it was only $25/day!). I think we paid something like $350 for the package and drank something like $800 worth of booze. All you could drink 20 year old scotch!

All in all pleasant, but that demographic has its own issues. The walmart cruises were never on my radar.

I think Princess is more of a Nearly Dead cruise line than Norwegian. Norwegian is Walmart, Royal Caribbean is Target, and Carnival is Dollar Tree.

Holland America is for the Nearly Dead's parents.

Galveston Port is Texas' entrance into cruising and Carnival has always been GREAT. So many stories so much fun. No need to drive anywhere relax and be part of it. Choose Fun is pretty close to the truth Folks.

The answer is none of them.

Cruising is a cesspool of germs and inconsiderates who like to drink.

The best part is the people watching. But that can only take you so far

Regent is top of the line, you pay for it, but the smaller number of passengers (250-375 suites) means better service, shorter lines and seldom missing the excursions you want on land. All inclusive means 98% of what other lines charge you for during the cruise. They generally include business class airfare, and all transfers from the airport.
