Jesus, you're one of those guys that still uses your fancy words we learned in college.

It may be an imperfect approximation, but it's definitely more accurate to the cold you're actually feeling than the real temperature on a windy day. There is more heat transfer occurring between your body and the atmosphere on a windy cold day than a non-windy cold day.

I have an MS in Engineering Mechanics, so tensor mechanics is a big part of what I do. I'm sure scalar and vector is just as foreign to most people.

Had to go out just now to get tape at Walgreens. Drove past a guy unloading groceries from the car in a hoodie, shorts, socks, and sandals.

It's currently 2F, with a 25 mph west wind gusting to 33. That makes for a windchill of -21F.

Guessing it's the socks that are keeping him warm.

He's just acclimated to the cold up there.

I just picked up my kids from a basketball camp and a dad was walking in with flip flops, no socks. About 8 degrees lol.

I got a chill once.
