For my k state buddies birthday I wrote bill Snyder a letter and asked him to write a happy birthday letter to my buddy. He did it and it was awesome - it is now framed and his game room. You could call up there and see if you wrote him a letter to see if he would respond. It may not be in time for Christmas but it would be a great surprise to them.

When mine was that age, I loved non-electronic toys that were versatile and would allow her to play with them in different ways as she grew. Some great brands to check out are Grimm's, Dimpl, Hape, Melissa & Doug, Fat Brain, or if you just want to give a really sweet traditional gift, the Jellycat stuffed animals are beautiful and high quality.

MMOs, RPGs, turn based combat, mobile, has a ps5, Nintendo switch, etc

Excellent suggestion, but a heater down here might be underused. One is overwhelmed with some family stuff, so I was thinking gift cards for carry out to take the cooking burden off her plate. And the other has some health concerns that keep her from being out and about so maybe the same? But last year I got them a bunch of stuff from Bath and Body works that they said they both really enjoyed, so maybe that again? I hate to just give someone the same thing every year.
